HUMBERTO KUBLI (1933-)

Kubli is a Mexican Modernist and member of Generation de la Rupture. Son of a famous poet, Kubli studied at the iconic 'La Esmeralda' Art School in Mexico City, where Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo were notable teachers. Here he was close friends with Tomas Parra and Francisco Corzas, both of whom became significant figures in Mexican Modern Art. It is believed that this is an early portrait of Humberto's son, Pablo, a famous contemporary sculptor.
