IVOR FRANCIS (1906 - 1993)

Ivor Pengilley Francis was a British-born, Adelaide-based Australian Surrealist. He was arguably Australia's most important surrealist, his work represented in all major National Galleries. This work is a unique depiction of Australia's most iconic indigenous and spiritual landmark, Uluru (Ayers Rock). It was exhibited at his solo show at the Royal South Australian Society Of Arts, Art Gallery of South Australia in 1965. Francis only held 4 solo shows in his lifetime!
